Sport activity is very important for children if we want that they grow up in healthy adults and in today’s circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic. Do to many lockdowns children where not able to attend many of the sport activities and schools which lead to low physical activity levels and motivation for games and sports.
The idea of this project is to increase the level of physical activities of children in primary school inspire them with traditional European sports & games to increase their motivation for doing sport activities. The project will also promote European values and cultural heritage and exchange of knowledge. Professional experts from project partner s countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Greece) will create the next results:
- Research of the needs of young children in regards to sport activities. Development of the survey report and policy recommendations to address the needs of children on national and EU level.
- Identify and collect existing good practices in the field of innovative approaches at motivation children for sports and raise their inclusion in sport.
- Create a handbook of traditional European sports and games from project countries.
- During this project the consortium will also develop a online platform where the games & sport will be explained. Which will be used to training of volunteers and promotion.
- Partners will developed a curriculum which will include different pedagogical teaching methodologies for work with young children in primary school. The methods will be used by youth workers, trainers, and teachers to better involve children in sport activities.
The project ensures the promotion and exchange of European traditional national sports & games between the project partners and enable them to be able to engage young children in schools. Existing facilities in local environments will used for implementation of traditional sports & games (playgrounds, sports halls, etc.). We will intensively promote the Sport events “Cultural Sports Day”, which will be organized in each partner’s countries schools. Children from primary schools will participate in the events where they will try out different traditional games which will became a tool for promotion of sport and cultural heritage.
